I wanted to be an author since I was a small child, and I've been an avid reader ever since I first read about Dick and Jane in grade school. I wrote lots of stories, but didn’t know what to do with what I wrote. I was inspired when I saw Claire Cook, author of Must Love Dogs, on the Today Show in July, 2009. Since then, I have published two books, The Next Chapter, and Read MY Shorts!, and have just finished writing my third (my second novel), Rainbow in the Dark.
My biggest inspiration, though, has been Debbie Macomber. I believe my style of writing more closely resembles hers. Also, we are both from Washington State, and just before I moved to Port St Lucie, Florida, I found out that Debbie and her husband winter in Vero Beach, Florida (just up the coast from PSL).
After living most of my life in Eastern and Central Washington, we are currently living in NW Washington. We have also lived in NW Oregon and South Florida. Between my husband and I, we have three sons - two are mine, one is his, but all three are ours...Donovan, 27, Anthony, 25, and Ryan, 22, who all live in Eastern Washington.
We share our lives with our Chihuahuas, Ginger, 14, and Tommy, 12. We lost Charlie (the white one in the photo) in July 2009.
My favorite authors? Nicholas Sparks, Debbie Macomber, Janet Evanovich, Claire Cook, just to name a few. W. Somerset Maugham is one of my favorite authors from the past, and finally...my all time favorite book is Gone With the Wind, so I have to mention Margaret Mitchell.
